Children and Young People - Counselling Service

About the service

This counselling service is a safe place where children can talk about their feelings after something upsetting or confusing has happened. The counsellor is there to listen and help you feel safer, calmer, and understood. Sometimes, instead of just talking, you might use things like drawing, toys, games, or stories to help share how you feel.

Who is this service for?

This service is for children aged 5 and older.

What kind of support do you offer?

You will meet with a counsellor just by yourself. The counsellor helps children who have been hurt in ways that were not okay. They will listen, be kind, and support you in ways that feel right for you. You can take things slowly, and the counsellor may use creative activities like art, play, or pictures to help you express yourself.

How much do I have to share?

You are always in charge of what you talk about and what you do. You never have to say or do anything you don’t want to. The counsellor will not make you talk about things before you are ready. You can share a little or a lot — whatever feels okay for you.
